Its elegant lampshade is set on a steel base that is available with or without a walnut cover, and an easy-to-use on/off pull chain with a solid walnut end. The lamp also includes an 86-inch plug-in cord. The Nelson Bubble Lamps were first designed in 1952 when Nelson was inspired by set of Swedish hanging lamps. Their expensive price prompted Nelson to make his own set, and he arrived at an innovative process that replaced their silk shade with a translucent plastic material, making them available at a modest price.

This lamp sits on a table between two armchairs. Its tall enough that people in the chairs can see each other so its great for group gatherings, but slim that it doesnt look oversized in our smallish space. The base is stable, and the lamp doesnt lean (for the price I did wonder if that might become an issue over time). Its functioned perfectly for a year now. The light it gives off is soft, definitely not a reading lamp, but perfect for this use. The light slightly penetrates the stem, giving it a bit of an ombr look when lit. I wish it came in more colors!
I wanted this lamp for a bedroom and was looking for a white or cream lamp. Overall, the lamp is very nice and well packaged. I am returning because the color is too brown for my room.
Lamp shade is so nice. Packaged perfectly in the box. Lamp is classy and works great. 100% recommend this lamp.
